Key dimensions of land users’ perceptions of land degradation and sustainable land management in Niger State, Nigeria

Declining land productivity remains a challenge for agriculture-based livelihoods and achieving food security. Yet identifying how users perceive degradation their capacity to manage in an environmentally sustainable manner can influence the measures initiated address it. Using case of Niger State, Nigeria, this study examines users’ perceptions management it Nigerian Guinea Savannah. We used Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer derived Normalized Difference Vegetation Index as proxy status, selecting 30 communities based on extent degraded areas. adapted World Overview Conservation Approaches Technologies, Sustainable Land Management questionnaires capture administered 225 users.
